Chutney recipes: Tomato Onion Chutney
Ingredients:
Onion – 2 in number
Tomato – 2 in number
Red chilli - 2 in number ( can vary to taste)
Oil - 1 table spoon
Curry leaves – few
Mustard – 1 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Serves four members
Preparation technique:
Peel the onion and chop them. Chop tomato .It doesn’t matter how small you cut because we are going to grind it finally. Chop it in medium size which will save your frying time. Pour the oil in the pan.Fry the onions until it turns glassy in looks.Then add tomato ,chillies and fry well.Once fried, grind them well until they become fine paste.Season the chutney with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Best time to have: Breakfast and dinner
Best combination: Idly ,dosai
